The Mobile Medical Museum offers seven virtual tours featuring some of the most noteworthy artifacts in our permanent collection. Each virtual tour video is between six and twenty minutes long and features historical and scientific commentary by Daryn Glassbrook, Ph.D., the Museum's Executive Director and Curator, as well as several caption words to teach new STEM vocabulary.
Topics covered include:
anatomical models and medical education in the nineteenth century
polio and the "Iron Lung" respirator
cardiac surgery and perfusion
African Americans in health care
Each video is accompanied by curriculum-based lesson plans for incorporating the videos in the teaching of subjects such as science, social studies, and language arts at the middle and high school levels.
Registration is $5 per student per video, or $30 per student for all seven videos. Payment is due in advance.
